Here's why I do what I do:
I have had the pleasure of working with Jennifer for over the past four years where she and her company The Bamboo Garden have gone above and beyond to deliver amazing results on every occasion for our various restaurants, bars and cafés around Australia. She has also been an integral part in securing wins in tenders for SSP Australia’s aggressive growth strategy at airports around the country.
Before we engaged Jennifer and The Bamboo Garden, the problem we had was finding a reliable and trustworthy marketing & PR agency that can deliver the results we were looking for. Having had bad experiences with other agencies in the past, it was Jennifer’s creativity, passion and ability to listen that were the main drivers behind our decision to choose The Bamboo Garden.
Throughout our four-year relationship, Jennifer has shown to us that she is a responsible person with a high degree of integrity. She always takes the time to understand our needs and requirements before providing a solution, this approach gave us great confidence that the marketing ideas and materials we are getting are of high standards.
David Tang, National Marketing Manager, SSP Australia – The Food Travel Experts
WOW!!!!!!!! It’s seriously like you just went into my head!!!!!!!!!!! Honestly Jen… you are the answer to my prayers, everything that you have listed in the strategy, is something that I have thought about doing, but never known how to do it!
I love the way you have listed everything, it is very clear and feels like a checklist to success! I am so excited to be working with you and can’t wait for these changes to start!
Your ideas are modern, interactive and excite me, you have injected some much needed passion and hope for my future!

Bau Truong asked The Bamboo Garden to create a website for our business and to also look at how we could use social media to help with our online marketing strategy for the business. We met with Jennifer a few times to discuss our requirements; Jennifer was always very patient, very helpful and informative during the planning sessions. She always tried to work with our time frame. We chose The Bamboo Garden to produce our website and help with the strategy and set-up of our social media presence because of the agency’s combination of food knowledge and marketing background. We wanted our website to tell our family story and the food journey that we would like to lead our customer on, so it was important to have someone with great food knowledge and also an eye for details to be able to translate our vision into a website that we can manage ourselves. We are very happy with the end result.

Jen and The Bamboo Garden team have been fundamental to the success of Park on King’s launch in the highly competitive airport parking industry. We engaged The Bamboo Garden to help us with our brand positioning, define and amplify our brand message, create all of our online advertising and to develop a strong online presence from scratch.
We’ve worked closely with them prior to launch to build up our digital strategy and we continue to do so in the way we monitor and optimise our campaigns and concept new ways to reach new audiences.
I always look forward to the weekly WIP calls and monthly results meetings as I love seeing the growth of the business backed up by what we’re doing in our marketing.
As a new business, we needed a marketing partner that was savvy and agile enough to work across all the different facets of the business; Jen and The Bamboo Garden have effectively helped us to cut through the clutter and get meaningful press mentions in publications like Broadsheet, work with influencers, connect with like-minded brands to run competitions, create all of our social media content, blogs, and graphics, and also manage our online advertising across Google Ads, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Bing and others.
We’ve been able to make such an impactful launch, it’s incredible how much we’ve grown in just the span of 12 months, I’d highly recommend Jen and The Bamboo Garden as your marketing partners.
Steve Savelle, Director, Park on King
Jen and I met at a food bloggers event in 2008, and as we both worked in similar industries, we forged both a professional relationship and a friendship that has lasted to the present day.
Jen was one of the first people I knew in our industry to take the leap from a successful advertising career into entrepreneurship, which I remember thinking was a tremendously brave move at the time, long before it was the norm.
She has always been ahead of the curve in business and technology, becoming an early adopter of the latest social media platforms – and then in turn developing strategic ways to use them for her business and her clients.
For example, her blog Jenius was one of the first food blogs in Sydney and she has used her years of experience in writing and photography to create effective content marketing and social media strategies for her clients.
Jen’s expertise and passion for food, technology, business, the digital environment and delivering results on behalf of her clients is evident in every conversation you have with her. I’ve seen her develop a business that is unique, using a network of talented, independent creatives to tailor a team to each client’s unique needs and goals.
She has a keen understanding of how to proactively market modern businesses in a very competitive environment. She has built an amazing team of other creatives around her to help execute her vision and strategy and leads them with authenticity and integrity.
We have worked together on a variety of projects both large and small since 2010. When I started my own freelance graphic design business in 2013, I reached out to Jen and she generously gave me advice, support and quickly began referring design work to me. It has become a great collaborative relationship.
I have always found Jen to be extremely organised, professional, passionate and results-driven.
She has a great understanding of branding and good design, so I can always rely on her to provide clear communication, making it a pleasure to work with her.
Personally she embodies everything that bamboo stands for – light and flexible but extremely resilient and strong. I truly believe Jen is an amazing leader and a standout entrepreneur in Australia today.

Thank you to you and your team at The Bamboo Garden. Your assistance in initiating our social media program has been so beneficial. Developing Silkwood’s brand through the various arenas has been such a challenge that you have more than conquered! Thank you Jen! I was impressed by Jen’s blog and website, and her diverse accomplishments in the digital world, so I approached Jen seeking assistance to design and develop my new business website. Jen is always very accommodating and professional in her service. I am very grateful to Jen and her team for their endless patience and efforts to design not only my website, but a Facebook page for my business. It was a big learning curve for me as I knew nothing about web design/development, but Jen was there to provide suggestions and guidance in a collaborative manner where I was able to give plenty of feedback. Jen has a lot of knowledge in her field, and is always happy to answer questions and teach me tips to best promote and maintain my website. The Bamboo Garden has a dedicated, enthusiastic and friendly approach in providing its services. A fantastic option for all those small – medium businesses out there who need some genuine guidance on their PR, marketing or ideas for their digital presence. I look forward to working with Jen again!

I came across Jen through her blog and thought she would be a great partner for an outdoor event we ran during Chinese New Year. Jen turned out to be a great presenter and her company, The Bamboo Garden, turned out to be much more than that – a partner who understood our vision for a holistic online presence that is consistent with our brand positioning, and came up with a total solution that included a built for purpose website and a Facebook page that really brings our brand to life.
Lots of agencies talks about online content and social media , but in Jen you will find someone who not only knows what she is talking about but lives and breathes this stuff, and has the ability to use her knowledge to develop marketing solutions. It was a pleasure working with Jen and we will not hesitate to recommend Jen and The Bamboo Garden.

❤️ yours was the first food meet I ever attended. Thank you so much for being part of my food journey.
Dear Jennifer & Amy,
Thank you for a very enjoyable & informative morning yesterday – the food was delicious, the company very friendly & you two girls were just lovely! We did a bit of shopping after we left you & soaked up the atmosphere. Having never ventured to Cabramatta before, you have whetted our appetite for another visit of eating & shopping. Once again, thanks so much (& sorry we were late!!).
Best wishes from Lyn & Laurie xxx
PS Jennifer – we LOVE your book – you are certainly an amazing person!!!

This was fascinating, and what I love best of all – as it underlined how wonderfully multicultural we are here in Australia, no matter our origins and beliefs – was the dessert table. Baklava, lamington, black forest mousse, coconut & pandan cake….. Keep up the great work.

After reviewing Righetto Romana Osteria, as promised, I returned with my family to share with them the food we loved so much the first time. We were served by the same waiter we had on our previous visit. He told me that he loved my article and sent it to his father who is still living in Italy. He explained that seeing the photo of his son pouring our wine brought his father to tears because he was proud and missed him so much. It was a touching moment and it means so much to me that our work has the ability to affect people in such a positive way. — Georgia S, September 19, 2014
A must do food tour!
I ate my way through Cabramatta is a fabulous way to experience Cabramatta. It’s a great mix of history, cafes, eating at street food stalls, and experiencing the full on vibe of Cabramatta. Amy is a great tour guide- her and her parents moved from Vietnam to Cabramatta a while ago. The food on the tour is fantastic and inspired me into cooking lots of Vietnamese food! I’ll be taking my friends on this tour and can’t highly recommend it enough.

I was referred to The Bamboo Garden by one of our loyal customers. She said that Jennifer was the go-to person for food marketing in Sydney.
Jennifer and her team worked closely with us, acting as our online marketing department for over 15 months. During this time, they launched two new websites (one for Cibo e Vino and another for Little Piggy Van), managed many promotional campaigns, sent out dozens of email newsletters, created our birthday specials emails, produced relevant content for our blogs and social media profiles, managed our SEO and they put us on the map with bloggers and the media.
I usually ask new customers how they hear about us and what they say usually confirms to me that our SEO campaign was turning more and more enquiries into bums on seats.
The Bamboo Garden have shown a true dedication to helping our restaurant grow and succeed and they’ve always been fast to respond, helpful and insightful. I’ve now sold the restaurant but would highly recommend The Bamboo Garden to any other food business in Sydney.
Ian Wijaya, Owner, Cibo e Vino
I found The Bamboo Garden very much by chance while using search engines to locate a suitable agency to help me build an online presence and draw the foodie community to my growing business. Given The Bamboo Garden’s extensive experience helping restaurants and food-related businesses with their own businesses, and Jen’s passion for food, I knew there was likely a fit. Following a productive first meeting with Jen, this was confirmed. I’ve appreciated Jen’s informative, energetic and focused approach to my projects. She is very detail oriented. She and her team have consistently hit deliverable deadlines whether it be the delivery of website design concepts, sourcing creative or integrating the set-up of online applications on my behalf (e.g. Mail Chimp). In my circumstances, there has been several key deadlines (coinciding with TV launch dates or food events) which needed to be accommodated – in all cases, my projects went live and made me “market-ready” to capture traffic and followers. I’ve most appreciated the ability to rely on The Bamboo Garden for projects to come in on time and on budget – I’m a career Direct Marketer, and work with other agencies at my place of work. With sincerity, I can vouch that The Bamboo Garden’s track record for reliability, timeliness of project delivery and lack of “surprises” far exceeds that of many other agencies in the market.

As a new brand with zero awareness, we were looking for a business that would act like our partner and help us work out a strategy to cut through in a market with lots of competitors.
The Bamboo Garden helped us by building a website that was more professional than the competition, and developing a social media strategy that was different from the norm.
They have become a great partner; flexible, open to suggestions, and not afraid to challenge us. We rely heavily on them and they have not let us down.

Fabulous way to spend a morning
We had read about Cabramatta since arriving in Australia and as big Vietnamese food fans this tour really appealed. We met at 9am and there was a group of about 12 of us and Amy our host started with her story of how she and her family ended up in Australia. We did a circular tour of the town stopping for authentic food along the way, the highlights for me were the chicken rolls and the citrus drink made from sugar cane which I’d never tried before. We had stops in two restaurants where Amy explained the food and also taught us how to assemble the dishes properly. We also grazed along the way and learnt so much as we stopped at the markets and shops for Amy to tell us about what we were seeing.
The whole town was buzzing so early and it was wonderful to be somewhere with such a sense of community. The smells and sounds set your senses alive and there were times I forgot I was only 20km from Sydney CBD.
Now we’ve found our feet we will definitely return to explore further and also can’t wait to see what other tours we can join with the I Ate My Way Through….. team.
Thank you Amy for making it such a wonderful trip

We were referred to Bamboo Garden from another one of our offices, and were impressed from the start with their professionalism and understanding of the social media space. From their initial research and strategic recommendations through to execution of our agreed campaigns and then in-depth reporting on our results cannot be faulted. We were new to this area and so they also reworked our Facebook page and other online presentations to ensure we maximised our strategy for great results. They are also lovely people to work with so all in all we would certainly recommend their services.

Working with Jennifer at The Bamboo Garden was a real treat! Over 8 weeks digital campaign I have found her level of professionalism outstanding. I would recommend working with The Bamboo Garden if you want straight up results but also need advise in your Digital Marketing Tactics. I found the creative work like landing pages and EDM especially good. Jen thanks for offering great communication and enormous amount of insight as a bonus!

I met Jennifer in September 2010 at a time when I needed someone to help me implement an online marketing campaign and to overcome my fear of social media. I had tried traditional advertising and found this to be expensive and with no returns. I soon realised Jennifer had the skills, knowledge & passion to take my business to a level where I could reach an online audience easily and effectively. In the early stages, we worked on updating my website so it was more functional and user friendly and moved on to a monthly newsletter to keep me connected to my customers and to engage new ones. Jennifer has an easy going nature and has guided me through this transition easily. I am looking forward to developing our relationship even further and trust in her abilities.

Virtunet has been working closely with The Bamboo Garden for the last 2 years in the development of our website, and management of our adwords account, blogs and social media feeds.
Our overall experience working with TBG has been pretty awesome, Zen and Jen really listens to our needs and wants and has been able to deliver every project that we require within our deadlines and budget.
I would definitely recommend TBG to any businesses looking to outsource your web development, and for any social media or adwords requirements, TBG produces one of the best looking reports for our review.
Business aside, I find that Zen and Jen are just a pleasure to work with, they are fun, energetic, always full of ideas and have a real can-do attitude. They definitely fit well within our corporate culture.
